I miss my blog! I read other peoples blogs all the time but somehow can never find the time to add to my own....so here I am! : ) What a better time to start back on the blog than my favorite time of year...CHRISTMAS! Kelly and I leave to go back to Tulsa this Wednesday for 10 days. We are so excited to see family and friends and celebrate this beautiful time of year. All of the Largents will be in town so we will get to spend 1/2 the time with them and 1/2 the time with my family...we are so lucky everyone will be in one place. This Christmas will be a little more difficult with Kelly being on crutches. It has now been 3 weeks since his knee surgery. During a lovely basketball game he came down on another guys foot and hyperextended his knee. He tore his acl, mcl, lcl and hamstring....not good! But the good news is he is getting better and has 3 more weeks with the crutches and 5 with the brace. The picture below is pre-surgery...I will add post-surgery pictures later. This picture does not even do the amount of swelling and bruising justice! Poor thing....he has done so well through it all...way better than I would ever have handled something like this! Well that is all for now...promise I will be back sooner this time. : )

Baby Brodie
Kelly and I babysat our nephew this week for about 5 hours!! It was the longest amount of time we have kept Brodie with just the two of us. He is an adorable little boy and I can't wait to see him grow up!!! Here are some pics from the day ; ) He loved to scoot around in this...he is such a happy baby!!
Uncle Kelly did such a good job hanging out with Brodie....although I'm pretty sure he had his fair share of little ones for quite some time! haha.Brodie loved Kelly's tennis shoe laces. Funny how such silly things can entertain little ones!!
It was quite the eventful few hours with a 8 month old around the house....even for a short amount of time you realize what a life change kids are!!! Feeding, diaper changes, spit up, crying....lets just say we were exhausted!! We love baby Brodie!!

Crazy
Wow! I can't believe I have not been on to blog since April...that really shows you how busy I have been! Since the last time I posted a lot has happened in my life!!! I got married, went on a honeymoon, moved into Kelly and I's home together, found out Kelly has an amazing job opportunity in Dallas, Kelly and I both got job offers the same day in Dallas, put our house up for sale and NOW we move to dallas in about 2 weeks!! So...you could say we have been a little crazy around the Largent household.
Our wedding was absolutely amazing and everything I ever pictured for the big day! : ) We could not have done it without the love and support of all our friends and family...we are so grateful.
The honeymoon to Aruba was amazing as well. Kelly and I had such a relaxing and romantic time. We had an amazing beach, great weather and a fabulous time!
Kelly is going to be working for Stryker medical in Dallas and I will be teaching first grade at Anderson Elementary in the Frisco school district. God made it very clear to us that this was his plan for Kelly and I as we start our lives together. So...we listened and off we go! We are sad to leave Tulsa, our friends, family and our home but are also very excited to start out fresh in the Dallas area together. : )
We are not quite sure where we are living yet and there is still a lot of unknown but we are confident that it is in God's hands and that he will lead us in the right direction. We hope that we will be able to sell our house soon so we don't have that stress as we try to get settled into a new city. Well, I could keep rambling but I am pretty worn out and need my beauty sleep : ) Hopefully I will be able to keep up with the blogging world a little better because I enjoy reading others as well as writing my own!

I'm back!
Well, it has been awhile since I have been on my blog....for many reasons! The main reason has been because this past weekend I moved into Kelly and I's house and have been without internet since yesterday! I think I finally have all the "business" side of moving in done for awhile! Another reason is because last Wednesday my mom and I had to put Sadie Mae (our 17 year old dog) to sleep. It was very hard for our whole family. I knew I had a picture of her on the blog and I just wasn't ready to see it and get upset....again! I never would have thought I would have been in the room watching Sadie take her last breath, but my mom wanted to be with Sadie in her last few minutes....so I was too. I think if we both had to do it over again, we would not have been in the room because that has made things a lot tougher for both of us. With that all said, we know that Sadie is in doggie heaven and no longer suffering from her congestive heart failure....R.I.P. Sadie Mae Blackman.

Wondeful
I had a great evening tonight even though my morning felt a little "off".
Tonight I got to experience my first ever yoga, pilates, tai chi workout. The Grand has recently started a new Les Mills class called Bodyflow that is a combinaton of yoga, pilates and tai chi. I had really been wanting to try it out but the times never worked with my schedule so finally tonight I was free! I was unsure of what to expect from the class since I have no yoga or pilates background. I figured it would be some basic streching and a time to relax....little did I know!!! About 1/4 into it I was dripping sweat. I felt like the kid in class who had no clue what was going on but I did my best and REALLY enjoyed it.....sweating and all : ) Maybe next Thursday I will get the scorpion and the twisting warrior down..haha!

Favorite Weekday
Life Group
I have come to love Tuesday nights. Not because it isn't Monday but soley because of my bible study I get to go to! These are some of the reasons I love my life group:
1. The awesome Spencer family
2. The good food (thanks Debi and Clay for always taking care of my special diet needs)
3. The fellowship with good people
4. The prayer time with an awesome group of girls
5. The opporunity to share what is on my heart with people I know I can trust
and last but not least.....
6. The time learning about God's word!!!
Right now our girl's group is studying the book of James and learning so much from it. Debi Spencer does an amazing job of leading our group and pushing us to be more like Christ! James has taught me how to handle trials & tempations, to be slow to speak, not to judge or show discrimination, how to put my faith into action, the importance of controlling the tongue, have wisdom that comes from God, and most recently how not to have friendships with the world.
I can't wait to continue learning more as we finish up James and move on to another study!!

and were back in the swing.....
Back to School after a nice spring break...pretty hard to get up this morning!!! I guess I just need to remember how lucky I am that I even get a spring break anymore, unlike most of my friends and family. Guess that is why they pay teachers so awful...hmmm...don't get me started.
This is about the time of year when teaching gets realllllly hard...the weather is getting nicer, the kids are getting more excited about summer and there are no more breaks left! : ( I am just really hoping I still am employed by Jenks next year with all of the budget cuts going on. They are getting us "temporay contract" teachers a little worried that we might need to look elsewhere...sure hope not! I guess at least I would have a little cash coming in from Stella and Dot if I suddenly was not "rehired." I will explain what I do with Stella and Dot in another post on another day. Must go to Young Life basketball tournament now!

Still laughing...
So I just had a really funny thing happen to me. I needed to dry my hair this morning but since my roomate, Lauren did not get home from work until 6:30 this morning I didn't want to dry it in my room and wake her up. So I decided to go to our laundry room at the other end of our house and dry my hair. Well after drying my hair and starting my laundry I was going to come back to my room and watch the Life church service on my computer. When I went to open the laundry room door....it was LOCKED. I guess the handle was in the lock position so when I closed the door it now became locked from my side. Well, it might not sound like that big of a problem yet but...the only other way for me to get into the house would be to go to the front door. That might have been a good idea if there wasn't a foot of snow outside! Obviously I neeeded to get back into the house so I weighed my options on what I should do.
Choice 1: I could bang on the laundry room door until I woke Lauren up from her few short hours of sleep.
Choice 2: Go through the garage and treck through a foot of snow in my house slippers to get to the front door and find the "hide-a-key" to open the door.
Well, after about 10 minutes of debating what I should do, I realized that choice 2 was now out of the question because even if I did get to the front door and find the key under the snow the chain was locked and there would be no way for me to open the door from outside...GREAT!!! So, I went with choice one.....for about 20 minutes...NO LUCK....Lauren must have been out! I was really starting to panic that I could be stuck in our laundry room for the rest of the day with no phone, computer....NOTHING! Since I was not okay with the thought of being locked in there I decided to get to the front door and bang on that door until Lauren awoke from her slumber. Off I went...through the garage, around the house and there I stood freezing at the door with a t-shirt, pajama pants and my house shoes...BANGING on the door. After what felt like an eternity, Lauren came to the rescue....if only I could have captured the look on her face of "what in the world are you doing at the front door!" The only thing I could do was laugh and say "I got locked in the laundry room, I am so sorry!" At least it will be a good memory! : )

First Day of Spring
So apparently in Tulsa, Oklahoma this is what is considered the first day of Spring!!! YUCK! Poor little Sadie Mae out stuck in the snow with no grass to potty on! Sadie is an 18 year old Carin Terrier who has congestive heart failure. As much as Kelly and my friends tease me about her, she is the best family dog we could have asked for! I think our family is at an understanding that Sadie has lived a very good life and when she does pass away we will miss her but will be at a peace that she in doggie heaven. Well, enough of that! Enjoy Spring...I mean Winter.

House Stuff!
For those of you who don't know, Kelly and I have bought a home and close on it March 25th.....so soon!! I feel like we have already signed our lives away so closing day should be fun...ha! I really can't believe that everything is happening so fast but I wouldn't want it any other way. We were house hunting for quite some time....even before we were engaged......needless to say it was stressful! We love the area and can't wait to start picking out furniture and adding on our master bathroom/closet. The house is on 18th and Lewis, right by Utica Square in the Lewiston Gardens neighborhood. It is 3 bedrooms and soon to be 2 baths. I never thought this was the area I would get my first home in but Kelly and I really enjoy the midtown Tulsa area and can't wait to start our Thursday nights at Utica Square in the summer!!
Where to begin???
Didn't sleep well last night due to thinking about the million things that I have going through my head. I really think this blog will help me "get out" a lot of my thoughts! As I laid in bed last night I went through all of the things I have currently going on in my life and wanted to share about a few of them. Last July I signed up to go through Tulsa Young Life training and have been leading at Edison High School since the first of August. It has been a great experience and I can't wait to see what all it has in store for me as we continue chasing after high school kiddos!! If you don't know anything about Young Life, it is an organization that reaches out to high schoolers by hanging out with them, enjoying their presence and teaching them about God's word. God was truly calling me to make a step to share how he has worked in my life and I can't wait to continue doing that with my high school friends.

My first post!
Hello!!
This is very random of me to set up a blog but I'm kind of excited about it! I think reading about other people lives is fun and interesting, so thought I would start my own.
Well, a little bit about me: I am 23 years old, engaged to my best friend, buying a house and teaching third grade. So I guess I do have a lot going on...ha! I am having a great time planning my wedding (even though "bridezilla" does come out every once in awhile) and can't wait for Kelly and I to be in the same city and live in the same house!!! I stay pretty busy with wedding planning, teaching and having somewhat of a social life.
I love to talk and am thinking this will be a great way for me to share what is on my mind and what is happening in my life. Maybe then I won't drive Kelly, my family, and my friends crazy with all of my long drawn out stories!!!
